After 20 years in the restaurant business, 4 as a bartender and 16 as an owner, Ryan was ready for his next challenge. Keeping a close watch on the craft distilling movement, Ryan knew someone in his home town of Vail, CO was going to make spirits sooner or later and thought it might as well be him! Being an avid home brewer and attendee of Moonshine University, he quickly put together a business plan, raised capital and started distilling. He created 10th Mountain Whiskey and Spirit Company in 2013 to combine his passions for business, spirits and supporting the military. If you visit his tasting room in Vail village or his distillery a few miles West of Vail, there is a good chance he’ll sit down with you and swap a few stories.
