Randy Larson

Randy Larson is the President of Spirits of Norway Vineyard & Winery located in the Historic Town of Norway, Racine County Wisconsin. The proud heritage of the Town of Norway dates back to 1839 when a group of 40 Norwegian immigrants settled in the area because of the rich growing soil. The first Norwegian Lutheran Church in America was built here in 1843. The Town was officially established and governed in 1847.

Today, some 180 years later, Spirits of Norway Vineyard continues to utilize the rich growing soil for their one acre vineyard consisting of 650 winter hardy-hybrid wine grapes. The University of Minnesota has an extensive grape breeding program. They have successfully developed grapes that combine high levels of cold hardiness with hybrid wine quality. Randy Larson has chosen several popular varietals to locally grow in their vineyard. Marquette, Petite Pearl, Marechal Foch, Noiret and Leon Millot are red grape/red wine varietals, while Brianna, Frontenac Blanc, Catawba and Somerset make up the white grape/white wines.

As a Professional Certified Craft Winery, Spirits of Norway Vineyard & Winery has earned several prestigious International Awards for their hand crafted high quality wines. The highlight in 2017 was a Gold medal for Brianna in the New York World Wine & Spirits International Competition.

Marquette earned a Double Gold Medal in the 2018 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition, while Brianna brought home its second Gold Medal.

At the 2018 Indy International Wine Competition at Purdue University, “Attitude Adjustment” earned a Gold Medal & Best of Class honors.

“Attitude Adjustment” also went on to earn a Gold Medal in the 2018 San Francisco International Wine Competition.

Spirits of Norway & Vineyard has been hand crafting their specialty wines in their Boutique Style Craft Winery for eight years. Larson learned early on how to overcome distribution obstacles and has successfully made great strides for retail placement in major liquor stores, wine bars and grocery stores.
