Ralph de Chabert

 

Ralph is SVP, Chief Diversity and Global Community Relations Officer, for Brown-Forman, Corp, in Louisville, KY.

Subsequent to graduating from St. Francis College in Biddeford Maine, Ralph had ten years teaching and coaching experience in the Cleveland School system (including University School in Hunting Valley, Ohio where he also served as 10th Grade Dean).

Ralph moved from teaching to business becoming a commercial casualty underwriter for The Kemper Insurance Group in Mansfield, Ohio. Later he moved to The Hartford Insurance  Group in their corporate headquarters in Hartford, Connecticut where he focused primarily on AIDS and Earthquakes as a General Liability underwriter. For a time he also was a nuclear insurance underwriter and a partner in a men’s clothing store.

Approximately 30 years ago Ralph entered into the global Diversity & Inclusion field. Prior to Brown-Forman, Ralph held successive positions in Northern California as Chief Diversity Officer, Vice-President of Employee Relations & Diversity and Head of Executive Development and Diversity for Safeway, Corp, McKesson, Corp, and American President Lines respectively. He also served as Operations Manager for Pope & Associates, a diversity consulting firm out of Cincinnati, OH.

His current Board service includes The Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville, KY, Louisville Central Community Centers, The Louisville Ballet, The University of New England and The Centre For Global Inclusion.

Ralph graduated from St. Francis College in Biddeford, Maine and holds a Masters Degree in Education from John Carroll University and a Masters in Human Resources and Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco, He also holds a Doctorate in Education and Leadership from Spalding University.

Ralph is married and has three children, When he is not spending time at work he can be found reading materials related to diversity and inclusion, enjoying music and/or watching sports with his wife.
