Hillary Sjolund

Acclaimed winemaker Hillary Sjolund founded Sonoris Wines in January of 2011. Intent on
making her own Washington wines, she uses grapes from the Red Mountain AVA and other select
vineyards throughout the Columbia Valley. Hillary makes wines that are technically balanced and
uniquely expressive. Her acute sensory focus on aroma and flavor directs her vineyard site selection
and winemaking style.

Hillary worked as an assistant winemaker for Pine Ridge from 2003-2006, and was the head
winemaker of DiStefano Winery in Woodinville, WA for 4 years before branching out on her own.
Under her winemaking leadership, Wine Spectator awarded several of her wines with 90+ scores,
and DiStefano was awarded Wine Press Northwest Winery of the Year in 2008. She travels between
Washington wine country and Seattle and considers both her home.
