Alexa Carey

 

Alexa Carey is a Destination Development Specialist who works with community leaders to stimulate tourism development as an economic driver to grow rural economies. Alexa currently leads Travel Oregon’s culinary and agricultural tourism initiative as well as the follow-up support for Oregon Tourism Studio regions. After earning degrees in Marketing, Management, Business Administration, and International Business from the University Honors College at Oregon State University, Alexa focused her efforts growing thriving rural communities across the state. She trained the Ford Institute Leadership Program as a community ambassador on the Wild Rivers Coast, supported rural entrepreneurs as a RARE participant at Cow Creek Tribe’s new business incubator in the Umpqua Valley, and facilitated leadership training and economic development assistance with a non-profit statewide. In her free time, she volunteers with Oregon Main Street programs, facilitates rural entrepreneurship events, trains small organizations on social media, and explores the state by paddle, pedal, and fork.
